Hope you
all had a nice Mother's Day. Did you call Mom? Did you send her a card? To
those of you who recently lost your Mom I hope you reflected on the good times
you had while she was still here. We all still have a mother in the Ocean.
They don't call it Mother Ocean for nothing.
Speaking of Moms On the mend department. We spoke with Kim Grondin and she's
coming around nicely. Still no visitors yet. She needs the rest and relaxation.
So...it does feel like we're in wave slump. The West Coast Boys just had an
amazing week of waves while we had some small bumps...can I make a suggestion
here? Get your projects done now. Take adavantage of the down time. You know
there's gonna be waves sooner or later.
We wanted to send a belated shout out to Carrie Keefe for her awesome job in running in this year's Boston Marathon. It was her second Boston Marathon and she actually finished better in this year's race than she did in last year's. And this despite the incredible heat wave they had. Husband Jacko was there at the finish line when she finished. Great job Carrie!
Don't know if you've seen the inside of the shop lately but Whoa! The new addition is gonna be killer! The board room is gonna be all time as CR just keeps getting bigger and better. We may have to equip the boys with headsets. I can hear it now. "PHIL-ONE THIS IS BIG RED. WE GOTTA LONG BOARD DOWN OUT BACK. REQUEST A SHOP GROM FOR PICK-UP". Ahh Roger That BIG RED WE'RE SENDING DOUGIE FRESH DOWN FOR PICK -UP. THIS IS PHIL ONE OVER AND OUT".
l laughed
when I saw this week's photos of the week. I mean they are funny. That one
dude looking like he lost his family jewels is (I'm happy to report) able
to still sit down comfortably. The other shot is just Surf Funny.
And isn't that what surfing is all about?
Pray for Surf. Pray for Peace. Surf For Fun.

Squirrel Crossing
This is a photo of John "Duffy"
McCarthy. It was taken in 1987 at one of our infamous Point Breaks. It was
at the time the most commonly used New Hampshire stand by photo by so many
of the Surf mags that we actually cringed everytime it showed up in one of
the magazines. Truth be told. It first appeared in the article in SURFER about
New Hampshire in 1988. It is a good photo of the young lad we affectionally
refferred to as The Squirrel (actually we had a bunch of names for Duff but
I'm not gonna embarrass him now). His folks still live at 11th Street where
Duffy grew up. The McCarthys are a big part of our surf culture.

This photo was sent to me from the
VT boys. This is a self portait taken by Eric Sautter at that left point break
that everyone seems to like.
That's Eric's brother Dave out back dropping into a nice overhead wave. This
is a funny shot. I like the quirkiness of it all. Certainly not your typical
Surf Shot. In fact if we had a spot for the SURFER type Parting Shot feature
that's where I would of posted it.
But
for now we'll chuckle at it.

be arealist about to catch some fiberglass in the ole crotch! Does
this look as painful to you as it did to me when I first saw it? Tricks
are for kids. Ya gotta protect yerselves at all times kids! Kind of reminds
me of Rodeo Surfing! Whoa Nellie!
